The American Legion is a patriotic veterans organization that serves veterans and the community. Conveniently located between the Root River Bike Trail and Highway 16, the American Legion Post 94 in Rushford is open to the public. Burgers are served on Tuesdays and Fridays from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and Heggie’s Pizza is served all week. The American Legion also has a large room, with licensed kitchen and seating up to 225, available for wedding receptions, parties, meetings and events of all types. Legion Riders Chapter.

The Foundation for Rushford-Peterson Schools exists to ensure R-P students become successful members of society by building relationships to inspire lifelong learning and the development of character. The Foundation places an emphasis on scholarships for graduating seniors and the enrichment of educational and co-curricular activities.

Join the Hardwood Country Sportsmen’s Club to access the club’s rifle range, trap-shooting range, and archery range in the scenic Root River valley! Events include an annual steak fry in spring and an exclusive banquet in fall.
Nearly 100 years after Peterson Station opened to serve SE MN Railroad customers, it welcomed the public again in 1974 as a museum and genealogy center.
Root River ATV Club is a family-oriented group promoting safe ATV riding. We meet every 3rd Saturday at the Rushford Legion at 10:00 a.m. Our members hold three events for Youth ATV Safety Training each year. The dates for these training opportunities in 2021 are as follows: Saturday, April 17 in Plainview; Saturday, May 15 and Saturday, September 18 in Rushford. We enjoy our local and area trails, and we explore other riding experiences around the country. A Christian and Missionary Alliance Church: Loving God – Sharing Jesus – Caring for People
Since 1969, the Root River Saddle Club continues to promote family fun and interest in all equine activities. From horse showing to trail riding, clinics to days at the movies, we get together to enjoy horses. Check out our Facebook page if you’re interested in joining us.
The Rushford Historical Society preserves our heritage by restoring and displaying the memorable buildings and artifacts that represent the Rushford area’s beginning. Surrounding the site of the original Historic Depot are landmark buildings—jailhouse, one-room school house, small chapel replica and a log home being restored with integrity and authenticity of the time it was used. Investigate and learn how our community got its start.
The Rushford Community Foundation is a trust, a collection of endowed funds, given by individuals, organizations and businesses, to be used for the betterment of this area. Each year the board of directors grants funds to enhance the lives of our citizens in areas like wellness, tourism, recreation, the arts, post-secondary scholarship, and honoring our unique history and heritage.

Rushford Lutheran Church is a place where you can come to learn about God’s love for you, where you can grown in faith, and a place where you can share your joys and sorrows in a community of care, compassion and faith. We are a member of Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ.
The Rushford-Peterson Booster Club is a non-profit organization supporting R-P School and the community since 1992. About 90% of funds raised go to the school activities, and 10% to community support. Donations over the years now total more than$1 million since the organization’s formation. A volunteer board of directors governs the organization and meets monthly. A membership drive and fundraisers are held each year. R-P apparel is sold at Rushford Foods.

Snowmobile Club responsible for maintaining 79 miles of spectacular bluff country trails! The Southeastern Minnesota Snowmobile Trail Map can be purchased in Rushford at Kwik Trip, The Corner, Stumpy’s and the Creamery. All proceeds go for trail maintenance. Find us on Facebook.

City Government; Peterson Station Museum: Nearly 100 years after Peterson Station opened to serve Southern Minnesota Railroad customers, it welcomed the public again in 1974—this time as a museum. Today, visitors can explore the area’s past through historical memorabilia, photographs, and artifacts, or learn more about their family’s history in the area at the genealogy center.
