Located at the base of Magelssen Bluff, this 36-site campground has spacious lots, full hookups, fire rings, picnic tables and a storm shelter. Cushon's Peak Campground is on the Root River and the Root River Bike Trail. Each campsite has a campfire ring and picnic table. The campground has modern, heated, clean bathrooms and showers. In addition to the bike trail, enjoy over 5 miles of hiking trails on-site, canoe rental, tube rental, and shuttle service. Direct access to the Root River, with a beach area for cooling off. Cushon's Peak is home to the SEMBA Bluegrass Festival every May and August.

Vinegar Ridge Recreation Area has six miles of hiking or horseback riding trails and is located along the Root River State Trail with access to 60 miles of paved bicycling. Visitors can also canoe or kayak the Root River State Water Trail within the recreation area.
Eight primitive campsites are available with a cleared area, fire ring, and table. One vault toilet available. All sites on a first-come, first-served basis for a fee. Located 5 miles east of Rushford and 7 miles west of Houston on River Drive. Camping area managed by Beaver Creek Valley State Park.
